Now that the warrant of Saddams execution has been signed,I can say here without fear of contradiction that he was a great leader for his people.He was a dictator,a pure work of evil but events in Iraq after his fall have shown that he was the one,the only one holding that country together,some countries need dictators and Iraq is surely one of them.I used to be a supporter of the US led invasion of Iraq till I met Abre on this forum who managed to convince me to see the invasion in a different way and since then I have blamed that invasion for the deaths of over 200000 innocent Iraqs and 2000 US soldiers.We might not have loved him or hated him and indeed his people suffered in different ways,his enemies lived in fear of their lives(but then that goes with the territory!)but at least he managed to hold his country together,no secterian killings,no suicide bombs in the marketplace and even got the Iraq shias to fight fellow Shias of Iran,what a man!!


As his death draws near,I stand in awe of this man,loved and hated in equal measures by those around him .Whatever will happen to his spirit I dont know and I cannot wish him neither evil nor peace,that is for the Iraqs to do and take sides but I know on his epitaph it should have read "a Great leader" but history will judge him differently now.


Fare thee Saddam,Fare thee!!!

If i had the power i would try bush for the murder of all the US soldiers in Iraq

The US soldiers deserved to die. THEY are the occupiers. I would try him for the Iraqis that have died. You have to wonder, a world where white people can just invade your country and kill your people execute your leaders. Oh yes. What am I saying? White people have ALWAYS done that.

it just shows how insulting the west is to other regions of the world.Muslims killing one of their own on a holly day?I doubt the existance of justice in this american juggled world!They have made Saddam into a hero,like they did with 'che'.Man was no saint,but he held his now 'wild'  country together.


Good for him to have refused the hood!Even in death he defied them.

Well versed the Iraqi's are innocent they died for nothing other than rumours, the soldiers will keep on dying for silly wars started by silly presidents with silly minds.

history repeats itself, for some reason it reminds me,of how the C I A masterminded the killing of patriece lumumba.


the similarities being how they managed to use his own people to kill him, for them to progress with there selfish agendas.
