Reminds me of old man SS Ngoma back in Mzokoto the guy had his own coffin made, dug his grave unfortunately when he died he wasnt buried in his grave neither did his remains go in his coffin. Talk of taboos.

They are simply trying to make funny of us. Don’t just let these foreign white folks take pictures anyhow. Are they trying to chase other tourists away or what? That video is not good at all. on second thoughts I also think its good for the donors to see this.

They are not making fun of us,WE ARE SELLING THE COFFINS TO OUR OWN!it is reality,people are dying like a rain storm.its high time we faced reality.

If i talk of not envying intellectuals even on this forum i dont mean being anti-intellectual, thats being de-politicised but look ,Guevara the executor who often tussles with Abres comes in with a certain kind of closed-up philosophy that irritates me lots. "looks like there wont be anymore buyers soon.: confused : " whats your fully scaled opinion then if i may ask.

Read Abu again and again and I agree: these images are aimed at stupefying our own values as Malawians unless you tell us whats your exact qualification of your initial posting , otherwise we shall all understand why you are confused.

You have to watch it carefully to understand.more than five coffin workshops at one joint?all owned by locals?what picture does that paint in front of your good eyes?

My friend what you have is misplaced patriotism,coffin workshops have nothing to do with "our own values as Malawians" never been and never will.Death is not a Malawian thing and how putting videos of coffin workshops on the internet is against "our own values as Malawians" simply does not make sense.Whether the intention of the people who put the video on the net was to make people weep or laugh is subjective and can be debated but that does not mean it affects "our own values as Malawians".

By the way what "our own values as Malawians"are the images impacting on?

I dont understand the phrase and that is why I want you to explain how they are doing that.

I have always thought they could have done better than that if it is all about sharing their most tastic experiences during Malawi excursion, and what message that i keep on missing are they trying to disseminate through such images? Is it something that will make everyone appreciate to illuminate what our country is all about? Is it about sympathy or empathy .

You still have not answered my question as to which/what "our own Malawian values" are the images impacting on.When you answer this question we might then look at what could have been the probable reasons that made them put the video on the net otherwise it would be wrong to assume that they were "disseminating" some sort of message as coffin workshops are an everyday thing in different parts of the world,they are not exclusive to the Malawian people.
