10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.
7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!
6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.
5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.
4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."
3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.
2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.
1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

You raise some valid questions (eg 7, 4) some of which (eg 3, 2) are quite relevant to christian fundamentalism (rather than christianity per se). The rest, depending on one's perspective (eg how narrowlly u interpret the Bible), can be very true, very wrong, unfair, or manifest of a lack of understanding of christianity. Point 1 is absolute garbage though. Where on earth did that come from?

Let's be honest though. Most christians know zilch about the historical details of the bible and its origins. For example, the fact that the Gospels were not written by Jesus' desiples but were compiled at least a hundred years after and have very heavy contradictions. Some actually very grave ones.
Plus the fact that Jesus himself is a total replica of several greek/hindu gods that predate him by centuries. One christian even told me that the devil must have anticipated that and created the "lies" before Jesus.
And don't get me started on the old testament because we don't have enough hours in this life.

However I love the idea that you actually think I might have some sort of religion. You cannot understand the concept of "having NO religion". Meaning I don't believe in anything at all supernatural. No god, ghosts, spirits, miracles. Whatever. If there is no evidence it doesn't exist.
I'm an ATHIEST. Meaning, a non-theist. O, my bad. I'm an Anti-theist. Means I am opposed to religion. Quite vigorously as you can see!!!
You said "Let those who have eyes see and ears hear" a bible quote if I recognise one. Reminds me of a quip be Groucho Marx " Who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes"?
I have nothing to say but only quote the following verses from the online Bible in Basic English,
1 st Corinthians 1 vs 18- 20
18
For the word of the cross seems foolish to those who are on the way to destruction; but to us who are on the way to salvation it is the power of God.
19
As it says in the holy Writings, I will put an end to the wisdom of the wise, and will put on one side the designs of those who have knowledge.
20
Where is the wise? where is he who has knowledge of the law? where is the man of this world who has a love of discussion? has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
3. When in another’s lair, show him/her respect or else do not go there.
4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him/her cruelly and without mercy.
5. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
6. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he/she cries out to be relieved.
7. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
8. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
9. Do not harm little children.
10. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
somtimes in life things makes one wonder WHY
Abres how do you understand the above mentioned points relating to you religion SOMETIMES l WONDER

You foolishly quote the bible to challenge my argument. Of course the bible would say that. It's not exactly going to say otherwise is it now.
I meet Christians on the street and they preach to me. I tell them I don't believe in God and they say "but the bible says God exists". Well, DUH!
Using Jewish, bronze age fables to argue you point is hardly intelligent from my perspective. Most of you people are Chrsitians because you were brought up that way. It is tradition to you. Your parents have taken you to you to church. You've never questioned it before. And when you express doubt they say you are the devil's child and would go to hell.
Abres your knowledge of the bible is good considering your arguments, were you not one of the fundamentalists who used roll on the ground claiming to speak in tongues after reading one too many chapters, and then hope for salvation from your bondage in Malawi when it wasnt henceforth you became a radical, scepticism turned you to science now you have an opposing view very strong that you cannot sit back and let those that be it?

Actually you got it all wrong. I know you haven't been following my old posts about atheist and the like so I won't really repeat myself.
However, I KNOW the bible, I just don't believe it that's all. It sound like Jewish fables to me. You know, sun standing still, 12 plagues, people taken up to heaven and all that... It never happened because it cannot happen.
I used my brain that's all.
You seen to think that Christianity is the default position that I should take. Anything, including my scepticism, is irrational.
Its' quite simple simple actually. All that stuff in the bible????? Never happened. That's it I said it. They're myth! Every society on earth have their own myth.
No, my dear, my scepticism never tuned me to science. My reasoning did.
"Fundamentalist"?! ? What is it?! Is there anything more that really reflects much about the signs of fundamentalism in oneself than sees the eye?? What makes a fundamentalist??Does fundamentalism make a fundamentalist or its myth and self-drive into it.???

maybe you didn't GET the point 10. Read it again. However I love the idea that you actually think I might have some sort of religion.
Infact I got the point and your reference was to xtians. But on the other hand I understand your position actually realising that you are not a believer of that faith.I started believing infact when I had acquired my full education and I know what I believe in.I know God exists,I know theres paradise and stuff like what you call fables.I also know that not all pipo I will meet in my life will have the same belief with mine.So neither of us will convince the other though I believe in biology and science as well as in xtianity.I have values for both.

Okay. Simple question. How do you know? What is the basis for your knowledge of the afterlife. Seems to me you're confusing "knowing" with "believing".
I know the earth revolves around the sun because I see the effects of night and day. I know if I drop something it falls to the ground, because of gravity. These are things that are obvious. One can see their effects, measure them, estimate them. There are laws that govern them. Quite frankly, they are indisputable.
You cannot tellme that you know there'sa heaven when you haven't been, know anyone personally that has, or even its location. Just because you "feel" the bible might be right, you're convinced in your heart that it is, doesn't make it so. You believe because you were brought up with that conviction. Its ingrained in our culture. Plus religion itself discourages doubt. Its the most effective form of propaganda. It states that you should have faith despite reality or reason. And faith is held up as a virtue of it.
In other fields however. Be it philosophy or science, doubt is what moves them forward. Scepticism is encouraged, actively promoted. Since the only way one can prove something is to expose it to challenge. Open challenge.
Abre ma dear those are ur opinions and i dont even get why pple are still coming in here talking to abre about this subject. I for one do not care about what u think or what ur facts tell u about the existance of God. God still exists whether u like it or not. I told u in the past that if u dont believe or ever believe u will never know if God is real or not. Only the real believers I mean those who have witnessed the power of God are the only pple who can know that God really exists. The knowledge that u have is limited in God's eyes U can come here and tell me about the facts that u know but u just seem foolish to me not intelligent at all. If u were intelligent u would know and believe that God exists. I would never come here and Juddge as a person or call u name and I dont think i've ever done that in here. I just tell u what i know and what my bible tells me even if u dont believe in it.
Go ahead and believe in whatever u want to believe in or in the facts that u have with ur knowledge on this earth. God created earth and everything in it including u and u will never understand unless u let him come in your life.
Dont come in here to push ur facts on pple who dont want ot hear it and if u dont want pple to push u on religion then shut up about it and go on and live ur life the best way u know how.
All i can do is pray for u cuz i really think u need prayers and if anyone want to JOIN me to in praying for abre holla.
peace

Hey I did not want to comment but still I have to:
Beliefs are there because of what you are. We are all different, that why we have different fingerprints. I have seen a lot of Items, objects, even animals which are taken as Gods around the world but dont blame these people that they are wasting their time. You can even just get a chiboliboli and give it name and write some thing and claim that it has told you what you have wrote then call it your God and start worshiping it. That is why in India there is Man with a tail and most of the Hindus worship him and they think its one their Monkey God who has come in a form of this human being.
What you should know is that do not mix zinthu za Religion and Science. If you do not believe that God exists then stay the way you are otherwise you may end up being more confused.
I dont know if you have studied other fields eg Philosophy, Sociology, History, which can rely differenciate Godly things and scientific principles.
Abre please Get well soon
Za Religion Zikhale Za Religion, Za Science Za Science.
Well if you don't care what I think then why do you start something or even bother to comment on my post (I'm referring to Chichi).
Hey, you can close our eyes and refuse to accept that your beliefs are ancient and archaic. I don't really care whether you wan to believe bronze-age, Jewish fables as fact. or whether you chose to see them as the superstitious rubbish they are - it's up to you.
But I must say; as an anti-theist, about how ignorant you all are about your so-called faith. I mean the bible is actually un-intentionally funny. Isn't it funny how people can get you believe all kinds of idiocies if they claim that it is "inspired by God".
You guys would disgust me if I wasn't actually sorry for you lot.
