Another dictator in the making


When Hastings Kamuzu Banda first migrated to Malawi, scores of our citizens welcomed him. Little did they know that he was a villain. He has abused people with his dictatorship government, prominent and learned people ended in jail for no raison d'être. Indeed development was there, but we also know the price that people paid. Innocent top Government Officials getting beaten by the then low life citizens called Ayufi for no reasons, Married women getting sexually abused by government officials, he was foreigner a Ghanaian and got married to a Malawian woman, just to mention a few.
The same applies to Uncle Bob (AKA Mugabe) whose father is believed to be a Malawian, doing what Kamuzu did, arresting of innocent people, sabotaging and shutting down of media empires, preventing protests and rallies, implicating opposition leaders for treason, getting married to a foreign a Ghanaian woman just to mention a few.
Now we see the very same with Bingo Wa Mtalika, Arresting innocent prominent opposition figures, arresting of business magnates, authorization of the beating of innocent people, treason implications, harassing journalists and musicians and also marrying a foreign woman a Zimbabwean. So you can see these people have a lot in common. We now have conclusive evidence that Bingu is turning himself into a dictator. Malawians must not forget how it felt back then, being treated as if we had no choice. Rome was not built in a day, It will take the whole term for him to be a fully blown Dictator. He might as well amend the constitution that the President should rule for 10 . infantile kind of leadership. His invitation of Mugabe is an aberration, since this will create a bad picture in the donor community.
