Seeing that the future Malawian leaders are almost all out and in the USA ,Uk ,RSA just to mention a few.But with the things happening in the Warm Heart of Africa now Political Bickering between the presidents and ex presidents do you think there is anything we can do.
I see only prayers can help may be ,but oh no ,one of you must have an Idea ,we can help ,what do you guys think?
We need stability in that country,we need peace .Lets start talking .
what is happening in malawi is very good and healthy, that is what we call democracy where nobody is safe on political grounds, one mistake u are gone.power to the people let people talk and let the politicians fight
It seems things are on track to a better and peaceful atmosphere as our former is trying to stay away for sometime and may be when he comes back he will have dropped most of his political stands. Its only that some people want to use him to further their political ambitions but the man is good at reconciling
Go to Bingu and ask him to stop giving out money to institutions at public rallies. He is going Muluzi's footsteps. And worse he claims the money is from his personal account. Someone should tell me how much the president earns to start dishing out money in millions already? Likaola tsinde ndiye tiiwale za transparency!!
Talk to the young MPs to stand up and start discussing real issues that would affect the poor, rather just daydreaming about when they will next have some cold greens kubwandilo or French corner. Issues of education, healthcare, agriculture, entrepreneurship, should dominate the minds and lips of MPs and constituents.
As for matchona, some of you have the economic means to start investing back home so that you can create jobs for your brothers and sisters.
As for you working in Malawi, take your work more seriously even though they are giving you peanuts. zabwino ziri mtsogolo.
There is a lot we can do. Ofcourse a malawi kukanagana zopanda mutu timakudziwa but we should know that, the victims of such are people without a voice!!
i think where people are there will always be someone who disagrees on the issues or matters of change some of the people needs chsnge while some dont so i think the only thing to do is pray so that God can help. eventhose who are abroad are just the same as those who are home God sent those people away for a reason so i think a leader will always be there or abroad so just wait for the time

There is so much peace and stablility in Malawi it isn't even funny. In fact there is nothing BUT peace and stability. There's not much to fight about. Yet.
Politicians always bicker and argue. That is a healthy form of government. As opposed to jsut following the orders of one man in a palace.
Question is, is there anything one can do for Malawi when a large number of potential leaders are in diaspora. Well, goin gback won't really help since that would just make it "a alrge number of unemployed returnees".
Coming back isnt really the solution, how many would easily fit in? Its not only a question of coming back home, the more you have been away the more you would be a misfit (dont get me wrong) but its a fact, the levels of reaction, culture perceptions, dressing(Not like Ngumuya).
The fact that those who have been abroad take themselves as superiors is another factor that makes it even worse, i for one wouldnt mind being taken to task over matters of education, international matters but it becomes bad when you start bad mouthing everbody we learn in different ways and travel is one form of exposure so let others into what you know if they appreciate they will hail you, osamangonena ngati ndinu akonko.

a. The freedom to vote must come along with the capacity to make valid and rational decisions in casting the vote. Malawi needs literacy and desimination of knowledge so that individuals dont only vote but know what they are voting into power... this can not come about solely from the govt, which is a politicized machine, but from those that are aware and take on the patriotic task of education others ie Malawi Luther king Jnrs so to speak. Hope is in the educated and powerful to come out in the clear and say... whats really happening is this... even NGO's can help deseminate knowledge.
b. People have to be given the mandate to partake in active politics by dicentralizing the concentration of power from the execute to the mayors... as we progress, even towns and districts might be given the power to hoold their own taxes so that tax payers can have immiadiate to those responsible for working out their welfare... govt can be left with the responsibility of running large, nation-wide institutions such as hospitals, schools etc but roads, infrastructure such as stadiums can be left to individual districts whose cofers can be supplemented if need be by govt or other interested parties. This will remove some of the powers invested in the executive to mayors so that even if an election results in the choosing of another "10 year money tyrant" peoples hopes will still be sustained by the leaderships in their respective localities... and prevent the tyrant from growing arms beyond the limited power given in his preseidency...
c. Malawians need to be programmed right away from primary school to facilitate an attitude of patriotism and love for their nation... new songs of eligence need to be heard and recited... malawians lack a love for their nation
the hope of a democracy is not in the freedom to express an opinion but in the capacity to produce an opinion that is valid and workable towards progress..
the more you have been away the more you would be a misfit (dont get me wrong) but its a fact, the levels of reaction, culture perceptions, dressing(Not like Ngumuya).
Did you mean to write, " the longer you have been away, the more you would be a misfit"?
