I know this is no 'Dear Abby' forum but I thought that I might get some ideas from my fellow members, who some might have gone thru the same.


Ok here it is, I've been dating this guy for now 4 years and recently his work place just relocate him to H-Town (Houston, Texas) and in the process he has asked me to move down there with him. All along everything was cool but just the thought of going someplace where it will just be the 2 of us kinda popped some sleeping nerves. Now am not complaining and all that but I've been having this thing in my mind. My man he is obsessed with how he looks (not that he is stuck up kind - but more the type who spend a good 1 hour for a shower and another on the mirror). There been times when sometimes I feel intimidated when we go out, see what I mean, like from head to toe all polished up. Some of my friends used to say he may be a metro but the way he performs (you know where) I doubt it. My question is, can it be true that a man be a metro and his girl not knowing it? I know love is blind that is why I don't see may be what my friends see in him. With what I've said here what do you make out of him.


Hey don't worry, he won't see this and none of you know him so it's cool, it's not like am putting out dirty laundry, aight?

Geez,two hours just getting spruced up?What a lady!oh,I meant a man.The truth is yes he can be without your knowledge.But dont worry honey,what one doesn't know,doesn't hurt.At least you can give him the benefit of doubt with his performance in the important area,bless him!

i dont see any reason for hi-cups...  your guy is just being 'smart', of cource 'ladishly' but be cool.  i dont see why its cool for a woman to bathe for hours and its a 'dont' for men?  munthu akuyesesa, hopefully to impress you.  now dont doubt your dude it will only bring uncalled-for discomforts.  a thief is not one unless caught.

ma sista, I feel four years is long enough for you to have picked up some skeletons.  Pse do away with this thing of 'my friends think/say....' by the end of day it's your feelings and your relationship not theirs.  Some guys are just born extra smart, my own brother if you would walk in his room and his dressing table (most guys don't like the dressing table thing hee) and the ranges of deodorant, sprays (from hair to body) you will see there you would think you are in a woman's room and if you were to sit on his bed if you were coming from panja he will tell to put chitenje on the bed before sitting - akuti wakola fumbi panja! So I guess if you two get along well and you feel it's right, I say why doubt? Unless if you want to take him head on!

Guys I appreciate so much your advise/comments. Ankhaze, this is what has been in my mind all the time that he is more of a clean freak (in a good way). All the same, thanx again guys.

I just wanna throw this out there they say that 75% of married african american men cheat on their wives with other men. I dont know how true this is but it came from a reliable source.


Hopefully its not a trapped in the closet scenario. Brandy1, trust everyone but not the devil inside them in other ways sometimes its good to be a little suspicious.

I seem to be agreeing with you a lot today... Strange..


Well anyway, I don't know about that statistic but it could be that the whole world is becoming more honest about sex and what constitutes "normal" boundaries of sexual activity are being blurred. That's another theory. Or probably its societal pressure of some sort that's driving men to other men.


Someone once said that it was the presence of female hormones from contraception and stuff in the water system etc that is making men more feminine hence the upsurge of homosexuality since the pill was discovered...


I could mention a lot of other conspiracies...

Just to clear it up a METROSEXUAL is a guy that is STRAIGHT that likes to take care of himself , dress, grooming etc or do things that have been traditionally thought of as 'female' .... A Bi-Sexual is a guy that swings both ways.....


So to make a long story short - Metrosexual has nothing to do with sex, it has ot do with gender roles that have been made by society, all a metro sexual is is someone that crosses that 'traditional' role without being gay. This describes most Malawian males
