I am one of the people that once believed that the system was wrong but after a while I realised that the system works out even better.People are free to contribute without worrying about anything,whether anybody knows them or not and as far as I am concerned people have grown to respect each other and others views.We have not met yes,but we know what to expect from Abre,game ,Lady B and of course Braz Nyasaland.We all are happy to remain in our"assumed names",it works well,does not bring about unnecessary tension and enmity in real life apart from the usual sparring here on the forum and it ends here.Can you imagine what would have hapened to Nyasaland if people knew his real name,if he was using his real name people could have lynched him but because of the way this forum is run ,Nyasaland is able to go into his bed and sleep soundly,nkonono mkati without worrying about someone waiting to beat him wherever he goes.

The use of Pseudos has also helped forge friendships that might last long especially for people who have found themselves having one or more things in common,all you need is to dig deeper and find the person behind the character and then you just click.I am happy to have found friends like game,Miss Thang,kesso(before he dissapeared and came back as..........u know who!!) in that way.Its not about giving a person false sense of knowledge,I believe people mostly talk about issues that they are interested in or have true knowledge in such issues,even the greats like Abre les ojos dont get into every issue,they pick and choose the ones they can contribute to effectively.If we use our real names,debates will dissapear,it wont be interesting any more and again the aura that surrounds malawiana in comparison to malawitalk or nyasanet will vapourise.

All I can advise you GWAN is to start using your real name and let those of us who enjoy it the other way continue doing so,its a democratic forum,JRC does not force anyone to use a pseudo,we all do it on our own free will and therefore you are at liberty to start using your real name,those who want to do it your way can also follow you but we should not be forced into something,some unrealistic change just because you are having problems with someone.I love the character of nyasaland but I dont think I would do the same if I knew the person behind that character,it removes the whole mystery!!!.

Ever wondered why JRC does not always contribute to this forum?its not because he cant,but its because we all know him in person and if he wrote something crushing someones silly point,people will take it too personal because they know him in flesh and akhonza kuyamba kumukumba za ku Primary school as you know Malawians kusunga mangawa kwabasi but if he had remained"unmasked",can you imagine how good his contributions could have been?remember he had the brains to bring out this forum and definitely he could have loved to contribute as well.Now,what if I told you that JRC contributes to this forum using a pseudo,would you believe it?THINK!!!

I say keep malawiana the way it is,anyone seconding that?any opposers like GWAN?nanga a Nyasaland mukuti bwanji?kumbukilatu dala kuti anthu ali pano amakusakasaka ndiye ukanchita chibwana adzakupanda!!!

What you are saying is true but these pseudos provide an opportunity for other people to voice out their opinions on issues where they would not normally do so in their own names.

If we were to opt for real names, there is a danger that we may lose some of the clientele here. Some people are by nature abusive, full of trivia and think that they know it all anyway. So whether we are using real names or not, if they are still happy to tap away at the keyboard we will still be subjected to the same stuff.

If you have any other reasons other than the above then all you have to do is weigh the pros and cons. At the end of the day the buck will stop with you.

The guy is trying to start a mini war here. Can you imagine the concequences of using our real names? I would never be able to show ma face in public again.

Na! I say keep it the way it is. Believe you me it's a lot safer that way. The world is already full of mad people without the need to unleash anymore.
