Heard This from the Movie Coach Carter

Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,

but that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,

gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking

so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.

It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give

other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our fear,

our presence automatically liberates others.

*Kiss*

Lady B,

Good pick! The extract was revisited in the movie...it is originally a speech by Nelson Mandela when he was released from jail. (I could be wrong but I think it was part of Mandela's inauguration speech).

Young pple today need to hear more speeches like those.  I will encourage everyone to help keep up those inspirational words to the young generation today.  Kids these days have such low self esteem and it has alot to do with what we see on the media.  There is a certain look girls are supposed to have or else ur an outcast, or if the family is poor they think thats where they belong for the rest of their lives.  I think the problem today is that kids are really neglected.  Parents dont have time to raise their kids and as the result they're raised by TV.  Lady B thanx for reminding us of those inspirering words
