I have not watched the movie yet either as it has not yet opened in the theatres here in the UK.But I can quickly highlight that the press here has lambasted Mel Gibson.It has been suggested that the movie is actually anti-semitic.Some have even suggested it is downright anti-Jewish.I personally form the view that the movie might contain historical inaccuracies as it were.For those of you who may care Mel Gibson other films like Braveheart and The Patriot have also been criticised on the basis of portraying inaccuracies.Despite the fact that Braveheart won 10 Oscars, but a pattern seems to be emerging that Mel Gibson's movies distort facts.No disrespect to Mel Gibson but hey the press has talked man!

Mel Gibson is a catholic and what the critics are saying is that he is trying to appease the Romans at the expense of the Jews.

I think anthu a pa states a ku pupuluma ndi nkhani ya zi. If anyone that watches this movie comes out and starts feeling anti-semitic then they have issues of their own. People forget that it was the Jewish leaders that killed Jesus not the Jewish people. Saying that the Jews were responsible for Jesus's death would be like saying that the Malawian people were responsible for Samora Machel's death. I hope someone sees what I'm getting at here.

Regardless of the controversy, I enjoyed the movie (I'm a very sick dimented person), which I went to watch with my Jewish friend. By the way, Mel Gibson is not a mainstream Catholic, he belongs to a different conservative sector that the mainstream catholic church does not recognize or associate itself with. -Samora

i see some rather interesting remarks for that movie on here....

well honestly, i believe that movie is satanic...(signs of the end of times if you know what i mean)....that movie just explains about christs sufferings when he was being cricified...but it doesn't dwell more on his mighty resurection.....if they only show about his death, all they are trying to drive at is that the devil emerged victorius over christ by killing him..infact, that is not the case cuz christ emerged victorious over lucifer when he ressurected....the world is coming to an end brethren...and if we don't see these things then we all are heading for catastrophe....
