A lot of young people don't want to go home because they realize that there is nothing for them to do in Nyasaland. Lets face it, everyone wants to do well in life. I don't know who this Dorah Nyirenda "ratted out" but I think there is more to this story than we know. If the person that was given 14 days to leave S.A.(I think thats where it happened) was a hard worker who lived according to the law and didn't bother anyone, then I'd say that this Dorah character was wrong. The person who brought this issue here has still not clarified but if it's true then i don't think she did the right thing.

Ayatollah, if you're saying that she did the right thing just coz she told the truth then i disagree with you. Imagine if you were having an affair and someone told your wife, would you walk up to this person and shake their hands for a job well done? I don't think so. Coz if that was the case then you would tell your wife yourself that you're going to or are having an affair so that if she hears anything she will not be surprised.

The reason we have these immigration officers is so that they can do their jobs and find these illegal immigrants and send them home. It's not up to some embittered soul to spy on others and report on them. After all she wasn't paid for what she is supposed to have done coz it's not her job.

Before you posted your piece you should have maybe asked arround, Who is this Dorah? Njiba knows this person and he/she knows her character. Dorah did not notify the authority because she urgently needed to say the truth, had this been the case she would have given more names in - not just this particular individual. She notified the authorities because as somebody has already said " there is more to the story" than what we have heard, anthuwa akudziwana. If someone is in the U.S., S.A., U.K. or whereever without .......... it does not mean that they do not want go back home. Some actually do want to go back home, under better circumstances however. We ( and you were too ) are just Africans trying to beat the circumstances we were born into.

anyway members of the forum have been known for exaggerating their comments, is she really that bad? how does she manage to get away with it all the time.

I am sure people have tuned to other news by now but I had to spit out a line or two on the infamous Dora "Kathyali Phyiphyiti" Nyirenda. I had the unfortunate honor of knowing her for several years and they are years to tell anybody out there to be on your guard. She is is as charming as she is conniving. Loves parties and can drink to the break of dawn. When she was in the US she stole from her own roommates, people that put her up when she got here and had no place to go. She even stole incoming mail for paychecks and endorsed them to herself, stole ATMs and managed to withdraw money from their accounts. All of this while going home to break bread with them and console them when they were mourning their loss of cash.

I have seen Ayatollah backing her up. I am not sure how much you know her but have no doubt, she ratted on her friend out of spite. I could say a lot of things about her that would drop your lower jaw and Brown Shuga has said exactly what Dorah is like. If you don't believe the stories you heard, find her out and make friends with her and see if in a a few months you will not be her victim.

Tiri muliyenda and we need to take care of each other. As beautiful as Malawi is, we are here for a reason and unless someone has maimed or killed somebody, I see no reason to be a rat. You just never know where the victim is coming from and what problems they have left behind.
