SCHOLARSHIPS MONOPOLISED
Permalink Closed

The Malawian Ambassador in The Republic of China Thengo Maloya( Former cabinet minster in the Muluzi regime) and his predecessor Eunice Kazembe(who was sent by the Muluzi regime to China) are sharing scholarships donated by the Government of The Republic of China to the people of Malawi amongst themselves. The beneficiaries are their children despite that the Chinese government wanted the ministry of Foreign Affairs to identify the right people . Kazembe has actually confirmed that she really has sent her children and relations to china and they left on August 20th, 2004. Asked the reason why it is only their relations or children she said the scholarships were readliy available  and that they were given at a time too close to the start of the studies. She aslo said she doesnt regret sending them or abusing the facilty.

Kodi abale anzanga nkhani ndi imeneyi enanu muli ndi maaspirations ofuna higher learning muli konkuno ku Malawi kumasowa zintu ngati izi..... Remember what Bingu said last week ku Chanco THERE WILL BE NO PAECE FOR CORRUPT PEOPLE!

Are these the Chinese medical doctorial scholarships? Regardless, if they are or are not the Chinese medical scholarships. Stuff like this just really makes me upset at times, not today though. How embarrassing do you guys think it is for Malawi to be represented by tourists in the academic realm there in China. Talking about making a bad impression huh!

Pendame said they are discussing with the Republic of China to change the mode of the scholarships so that doctors should be allowed to specialise in other countries like South Africa under the same arrangement since the British system is acceptable in Malawi. - The Nation

Just look at this, the effects of colonialism run deep. Njiba
