I do not know about you guys but I am loving reading politics in Malawi! I did not like Bingu in the first place and I would not have voted for him then, but now I have a change of heart, I think he is doing a great job!
I have had this bitter taste in my mouth for the longest, I guess now it has turned into curiosity. When I last visited Malawi some years back, a story surfaced about Indian guys making some prostitutes from Hanover Street have sex with their dogs while they watched! What was the verdict on that if there was any? Can anyone remember????
Those are some good soccer pictures but who is who? (Names?)
Bingu is doing a good job indeed and from the look of things looks like anyone who was corrupt in the previous regime is gonna afce the law one way or the other.
About Indians, prostitutes and dogs it happened once if I can remember very well it was in 1995,the prostitutes did have sex with the dog(German shepard) and when the Indians refused to pay the three prostitutes smashed the front windshield of the Indians car, police picked them up and charged them with malicious damage of property, each of them posted bail and they were set free.Since then I have never heard of anything else like this happening in Malawi.

Mafana, don't be cheated to leave your nursing home jobs hoping that you can head back to Malawi and you will find a good job. Looking for ajob in Malawi is just the same as looking for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. You hear the Politicians saying that they are there but the honest truth is that you just can't find them no matter how hard you look. Anthu akutuwa ku Malawi. Do not expect that Bingu will give you a job. While Bingu has started out well, we all need to understand that the turn around is going to take a while.
I agree with most of what Bingu Is doing however, i still think its important for him to present a strategic plan for Malawi. You see, as he is rooting out corruption ( most of which really involves the past) he should lead the country into the future, Just a basic mission statement.
hey, you are loving reading about politics in the country? am thinking it's starting to cause unrest, unless if of course the stuff just ends on the paper and no one decides to take it in the streets, (well it ain't that bad though) But can you imagine the President going National and expressing to say 'am gonna catch all you thieves and then lock you up and throw away the key" (imagina how this sounds in vernacular)or something like that. Really wots up with that? Obviously they have been doing investigations and catching the supposedly bad dogs but if they react and start saying all sorts of stuff and the President goes around saying these absurd stuff, men, he is gonna join the circus (of people with loose mouths) I think Bingu is doing recommendable work but he shouldn't join the 'lousy talkers club' he will degrade himself. But basically I think Malawians in big offices in the country will have developed either high levels of honesty or more sophisticated ways of getting away with corruption!! we will se in the next five years though.
