A black person dressed in a pair of Jeans and a shirt will tell me that am copying Indians by wearing a robe and a cap. I personally call this stupidity because I wonder where in Africa a black man designed these pair of Jeans and a shirt. Have we forgotten how our forefathers used to be dressing just a century ago? Do I have to remind them that they used to wear a piece of cloth just to cover the private parts? A white man came in his area introduced his religion and a way of dressing. They found it to be appealing. An Arab came to my area introduced his BEAUTIFUL religion and way of dressing and we found it to be appealing. He eats his Nsima his tummy full and comes to me and say “tamuonani uyo akutsanzila amwenye” honestly it doesn’t make sense to me because we all adopted these cultures. They make it look like Christianity was discovered by Africans. A few weeks ago Black people in a certain town in RSA complained to the media that there is this other Church whereby they have been suspended for singing Gospels in their native languages, and by telling people what happens behind the closed doors in the Church. And what happens behind the closed doors? Sermons are held in Afrikaans, and that white people sit separately, something which does not happen in the Mosques. These very same people will keep quiet when they see a Nigerian or West African Christian or a Rastafarian wearing the very same robe. They will simply say big ups, more fire To the Rasta man and to me they will say tachionani ichi. Not to mention the films of the stories from the Bible whereby the dress code is Islamic. There is something wrong with black man’s integrity. Just because the western Christians have their personal grudges with the eastern Muslims does not mean that we should be at Loggerheads.
