Four people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at the Roman Catholic Church in Berea.

The men held up priests at gunpoint and stole cellphones, jewellery and an undisclosed amount of cash. The police's Sefako Xaba says no one was injured.

A priest from the Roman Catholic cathedral says he is shocked that criminals are now targeting churches.

Gunmen held up the priest and his staff inside the church in Berea yesterday, they stole cell phones, jewelry and a small amount of money.

Four people have been arrested and two others are still at large.

Father Sean Mary von Lillienveld says his staff is recovering from the trauma.
