I dont doubt your choice Swema, but Temwachi these are internationally acclaimed schools and you definetely know the cost implications the students there are not the average Malawian its either the diplomats, company directors not forgeting ziomba zathu mtaunimu. My suggestion is tell some of your relatives to search the schools for you or you might just waste you time looking for help of schools on this forum unless if we have teacher members then they can give you insights into their schools.

What is a good school if I may ask in your own understanding of your question? Am afraid it seems your question is too broad-based to be simply answered just like that. Try to narrow it some bit. However, with a temporary -response I might choose to remind you that the core duty of tax-supported public schools in any democracy ( Malawi) is to pass on to the next generation democratic attitudes, values and behaviours. All good schools therefore in Malawi today I should propose seek to accomplish these paramount and essential tasks. What is different on the surface is the relative weight that schools place on these goals, how they go about putting into practice what they seek, and what words they use to describe what they do. Please come again with what you want here……am not trying to be rude but I might offer some light towards the truth about a school being good.
Take it from me, why have you found it so hard to classify and get good schools in Malawi today? Because we have not examined carefully, deliberately and openly our different conceptions of "goodness" and how each notion is connected to democracy ever since Muluzis UDF led government changed the policies on education in Malawi in 1994. The "good" school has been elusive because of an unexamined bias toward only one version of what is good (i.e. Phwezi, Saints, Kaphuka, etc). It is time to end the fruitless debates over pedagogical methods and ideologies, to overcome the deeply buried but persistent impulse in our beautiful peaceful country to create a "one best system," a solution for every problem.
