Does anyone have some current pictures of Blantyre, Limbe & LL (Old Town)? After hearing about how they've all been cleared of vendors, I'm very curious as to what they look like now. A vendorless Limbe is beyond anything my imagination can come up with unaided; I have to see it for myself. Please post some photos.

Won't hold my breath if I were you. This lot haven't even been to Malawi in ages. You won't believe it by the way they collectively come together to criticise anyone that says anything negative about Malawi.
The pictures on the from page of the site with the Bata store) is the best closest we'll find...

honestly nothing has changed the bata store is really the closest because there hasnt been any tangible development. What these so called Malawians of indian origin had an advantage of using the vendors as an excuse of not giving their shops a facelift so far its only the paint companies that have benefited coz everyone was told to paint up or else.................as is always the case nothing to do

I would think that the removal of vendors from the town is due to pressure from the Asians since not only were the cutting into their profits, they were also blocking the streets that housed Asian shops. Might be a conspiracy behind that.
Still. I think they should be policy to persuade Asians to improve the city's infrastructure as opposed to sending the money abroad. Higher taxes and better management of them. I'm not keeping my fingers crossed.
