WHAT IF?

Yes, what if the world was to be without the terrorist groups, what would have happened to countries like Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, etc? I feel much as we hate these groups, they provide the checks to the most powerful nations from exploiting the smaller nations. Dont you think guys that Africa should have its own version of terrorism so that our resources are not taken for free?

That would only make Africa even more unstable on top of being broke. Such groups already exist in places like Nigeria. I still haven't figured out their logic. Dodgy lot. It's worth noting that most of the people guilty of plundering Africa are African...

Dodgy lot? What are you talking about?

All they are fighting for is that the Oil companies that exploit their land and pollute the rivers and land put something back. They are popular and considered freedom fighters by the people who they are fighting for. Same as Iraq.

It takes a whole village to put up an insurgency. Don't let anyone deceive you, these people the western people call terrorists are highly popular in their own towns.

Most of the people guilty of plundering Africa are Africans? I don't even know where to start on this one. I always thought you were capable of more than such a sweeping albeit flawed statement.

Okay, maybe 'most' is stretching it. But you have to admit, quite a few Africans have a lot answer for.

More than the multinationals that exploit these countries. More than the world bank and IMF? Debt repayment? Western farm subsidies? You ought to have your head examined.

Whatever pittance is left isn't even enough to steal. But then of course the politicians take their lions share too. Your guess is as good as mine as to what the bottom part of society get left with.

You underestimate the impact of bad leadership. It extends beyond simple theft. A lot of what u've mentioned wouldn't have happened without the help of African facilitators (or bad policy at least). 4 instance if Malawi had been more forward looking, farm subsidies wouldn't be an issue today & someone would have realised that the "aid" would become unsustainable well before that became a problem.

You also underestimate the behind the scenes aspect of foreign policy decisions. The incessant bullying and threats that western government constantly level at poor African countries. I'm sure there are a lot of African leaders that would like to be self-sufficient. They just can't. They basically are operating within a system that is skewed to keep them subordinate. Trade is not free, debt repayment isn't fair (unless you are a white western country or have a bargaining ground). All the modes of development that western countries went through to get to where they are today are now being treated as unethical, or dangerous to the environment, or human rights abuses etc.

Without slavery or colonialism the west won't be this rich. Without having massive industrialisation irrespective of the environment or pollution there is no way forward. The world is prepared to look the other way about China because they supply all the goods, forget human rights. But Mugabe does less than that; promotes nationalism and they call his an African Hitler.

Bwana Mulopwana

From lighter side of life, but with serious consequences of course, here are some of the reasons I gathered from Uncle Chimbolo Munthali, why 'we' Africans can not be Terrorists:

1. We are always late; we would have missed all 4 flights on 9/11

2. Pretty girls on the plane would distract us.

3. We would talk loudly and bring attention to ourselves.

4. With food and drinks on the plane, we would forget why we're there.

5. We talk with our hands; therefore we would have to put our weapons down to stress a point.

6. We would ALL want to fly the plane.

7. We would argue and start a fight in the plane without a good reason.

8. We can't keep a secret; we would have told everyone a week before doing. Drink over the 'secret' mission.

9. We would have put our country's flag on the windshield. Representing umadziwa.

10. We would all have fallen over each other to be in the photograph being taken by one of the hostages. Posturing as if we have never posed on photograph before. (waving peace signs as if we are on peace mission).

And we will bribe somebody, so that they can let us go on a suicidal radical mission.

Thats it Abre. The westerners brought in issues of EIA after they had already developed. The conditions of getting the loans from IMF and World bank are so tough. They give us loans and dictate on what to do with their money. Eventually al the money goes back to them. And instead we become more poorer than before. When it comes to Africa, they know nobody is checking their policies of exploitation. In the arab world the terrorists provide the checks and balances. Unless if we all africans unite and talk hard like Mugabe. As Abre has put it; who is better between Mugabe the Chinese president.

No offence, but I find that view grossly simplistic.

Yes Papa,

Papa, you may say my uncle is wrong, but basically he was just pin-pointing some of the 'moral fibers' of majority of africans. Do I agree with him? Yes, I do 110%.

And if you think am pro-west, I will agree with you too. Although I dont agree with some of their ideologies, but yes am. Basically am here in the west, because I dont wanna associate myself with any african politician. We gat parallel thinking capabilities and idealogies. Theyre the worst criminals comparing to western counterparts. I wouldnt say am prejudice or myopic. Am just somebody who hates injustice, so regardless your skin color, if youre justice person you will share the same table with me.

Sir,

There no reason to have a tone like that in order to be heard. If you dont agree with me or my uncle (I clear stated that it was his opinion) thats fine. Am not gonna spent my time persuading anybody over trivial issues.

And you have been a member of this forum since 2004 and you have only started one topic (the one below). I wonder what made you come out this time.

I dont know what the Nigerian women did, but what is certain is that Nigeria is still poor comparing to other oil producing countries. Corruption is still high etc

Mugabe is doing the same only the other chickenhead presidents of africa cant let the cat out of the bag for simple selfish reasons we can regain lost glory.

If you take Mugabe as your role model, then you must be chickenhead yourself. If your ask most Zimbabweans, am pretty sure they will have no kind word for him. Its clear that Mugabe took farms aways from whites to buy votes.

I believe there were better ways of deal with the land issue in Zimbabwe, than forcing white pple out. Ask me later I will tell you.

Do you realise that you haven't actually said anything. Constructive or otherwise. You quote people, you don't even have the courtesy or debating with them. Instead you accuse them of doing exactly the same thing you set out to do with such heartless hypocrisy that you must be an idiot (or think we all are); the former is probably more accurate, to believe you can get away with it.

I should have known quoting a screwy, will create more problems than solve. Who told you that to quote a person, you have to debate with him/her first. You have quoted so many fomous pple/idiots yourself - Have you debated with them? And you make it as if debating you is the most important thing that can happen to ones life. B*******!!!!!! You came here every day and I dont think anybody misses you. Ukanakhala hule, bwenzi mahule enanso akuti ndiiwe hule wophweka. Manthu wa mahule or mai mfumu ya hule. Hule hule!!!!!!

And read this s**** below and tell me if it makes any sense to you. I hope you will realise that you haven't actually said anything. Constructive or otherwise yourself. If it is making sense to you, then you should be able to understand my posting too. I thought your misala is getting better, but I was wrong.

And remember regardless who you are, I give credit where it is due, but I am also critical where I see fit. If I have criticized you more, then am sure you deserve it. I m not changing my schema for nobody.

And you talk of courtesy. What make you think I should be the one offering olive branch, when my opponents feel otherwise. Youre the same assh**** who always comes with something 'smart' every time you see my postings.

Inu Abingiza,

You gat the same traits of the pple I enshrine to the Malawiana Hall of Shame. Youre even worse. Youre the pple who set bush fire without knowing, until your feet get burnt (and you start to wonder who started the fire) You just present yourself in the same fashion and manner like the other famers. I dont think I will waste too much time with you. Umbuli wako wa ndiwopsya. Serously, I think by now you know that ndiiwe buli yakumadzulo.

Lets go thru your sh***.

are you geared for battle? then with who? get out of the gas chamber you went into

If you go back to your initial posting, you will agree with me, that the tone in your posting, will likely instigating an urgument/fight. If you dont see it that way, I wouldnt be surprised. Its not your fault. I wish if somebody could advised the pple who brought you on this planet, that the offspring of their combo was not gonna be smart. Mukafuna kutchuka, mutchuka wopanda ziwalo.

if my opinions change you have no right to question

Go back thru this topic and tell me the opinion you are claiming to have changed me.  Honey, I dont see any of your opinion, other than your comments on others pples opinion. And youre not even good in that area, because if pple say african this or that, it doesnot apply to all africans. Most likely you have heard of the term 'African time' (simplely meaning kubwera mochedwa). Pple will agree with me that most africans dont keep time and they like their pictures taken etc. Basically, that whole list applies to most african. And why I dont have the right to ask, thats another mystery.

for your info am not who you think i am

I really dont care who youre. It was just a suggestion. Youre are equally bad, anyway.

Starting a topic doesnt make me any different from what i know i can choose to or not its none of your business what i do is for my interest.

You gat all this twisted. You missed the point once gain. I now know why in 2yrs, you have only started one topic. Umakonda kufuta-futa. Youre not sure of yourself. I really dont care how many topics you start, but the fewer the better. It will save us both our valuable time.

And while youre free to choose (whatever) and none of my business, youre limiting your freedom, if you comment on other pples posting (especially with the tone you brought here)

forget about picking on somebody if your ideas stink why not trash them get a life

I never came to you. Youre the one who came to me. I didnt even know you exist on this forum.

I remember kumudzi kwathu, there was this dude who was a nuisance to everybody, when he gets drank. He will curse at everyone including amfumu. Amatukwana zonyansa zija. When you confront him next day, while sober, he was very remorseful and repentant. Amvekele: eee!! ine ndinatukwana chonchi. Mowawu mwina ndingosiya. Pepani a mfumu. In the after noon, this dude will go back to drink, and he will start cursing again. But this time he will mention what was discussed earlier. He will be like: masana aja ndimanama kuti sindimadziwa chowe ndimachita. Pachakuti panu nonse. olo mundifunse mawa ndikuuzani zomwezi. Agalu ndi amfumu omwewo.

If you confront him next day, the same stories. He will be very apologetic. He will say things like mwina andilodza. The routine was the same. And his name was bingiza. I was wondering why your name sounded familiar. Mudzi ukoma ndi chitsilu. Welcome to my world.

Papa,

Your posts merit my respect, however I have sensed that they radiate a certain degree of ambiguity, dont you think it is possible that your uncle is feeding you  with the same tripe African leaders get from thier political advisers .Though you are pro west I like the African in you ,you "worship" your uncle. Not bad.

Yes Papa!!

I like the papa stuff. Anyway, there is no uncertainty in my post, because if you go back to the list above, you will agree with me that those are qualities of an african. (although they cannot stop an act of terror).

The western countries are just part of the problem, but we (africans) are the main source. So using terror acts to curb or erase part of the problem, will not solve the problem. If you wonna be terrorist, then your target should be your politicians. Make them see that your are the boss not vise versa. And if there is resourses for terror, why not use it to buy farming machinery.

For your info, african leaders dont have advisers. Theyre advisers themself to their own advisers. They sorround themself with 'Yes Sirs.'

Western aid/loan comes with tough condition, because we have shown not to be responsible. We always divert funds to chase vote and buy luxuries. Same, if your brother ask you money for food, and you hear that he used it on beer. Am sure next time you will take him to buy the food, even if it means using part of the money (for food), to buy gas.

Its not western responsiblity to help us all the time. We are supposed to set up long term goals and try to achieve them. Western countries/IMF are like wakatapira. They are for temporary relief. If you use katapira as your long term plan, then siuzatukuka.
