Dont u think instead of completely denying the existence of such beliefs,we should accept that out there some pipo r still living in a wacky but dangerous world? A world where a human being can be killed just to "harvest" his private parts and sell them as if they were selling a goats testicles at the market?Can u imagine a normal person being caught red handed with such private parts still seeping blood and of all places in the corridors of Lilongwe Hotel?Apparently he had some more in the boot of his car,very frightening,very sad but we cannot just deny the existence of such behaviour and beliefs,it is very dangerous to do so lest u find urself a victim as well,the truth is outta there it is happening,it is there and whether pipo get rich thru such things we cannot say.

To Pope who started this thread,I believe u rs is a genuine attempt to learn or know something but this issue is way beyond the reasoning capacity of most members on this forum b coz it goes beyond normality and asks questions that have more to do with the underworld or the "kukhwima thing"than an everyday occurence like going to Wal-mart or McDonalds,I believe most of us cannot honestly give true answers other than denials or hearsays unless of course we have some members who have been "there",done "that" and came back to let "anafe"get a glimpse of that side.

You need to rephrase your question. I don't understand what you're trying to say.

I am not deny the existence of these beliefs. I grew up in a society in Africa where this belief is rampant.

It doesn't make it true. Whether there are people out there that believe it is not the issue here, the truth is that it is just plain superstition and it is sad that there are people who still harbour or entertain this rubbish. The fact that Pope (unless I misunderstood him) even considers that there is a possibility that it can be true is laughable. Utterly ridiculous!

It's quite simple. In fact I place all you religious people in the same pigeon hole (deny it if you like). Because you all do stuff that has no evidence in reality. The belief in Jesus and stuff is not at all too far from rituals for money. I mean the last time I went to some church the preacher had the audacity to claim that if I placed enough money in the tray that kept going round, that I would be rewarded with more money.

How dumb is that?

Police intensify search for human parts syndicate

Police Headquarters in Lilongwe have launched a country-wide search to uncover what is believed to be an established syndicate of murderers dealing in ritual killings for money.
Police Public Relations Officer Willie Mwaluka confirmed on Sunday that following last week’s arrests of four suspects: Leonard Ganizani, Felix Maganga and Jackson Chisepo on allegations of being found with human private parts at a Lilongwe hotel and an accomplice Sumaili Daudi, police investigators are working day and night to unearth ring leaders.
Daudi (27) from Mchepa Village, Traditional Authority Kauma in Dedza was also arrested on Thursday on suspicion that he murdered Batson Makondetsa (42), removed his private parts before dumping his body in a river at Lumbadzi.
Mwaluka said police are aware that the gruesome practices cannot be the work of one person, but an organised group that has killed many innocent people not only in the main urban areas of Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzuzu, but all over the country.
“It is everybody’s guess that this is not small business, it involves a cross-section of people. Who knows, maybe some local tycoons, that’s why we want to get down to the root of the matter,” said Mwaluka.
The Police PRO said there is no doubt that the syndicate would entice some criminals in rural areas to kill people and sell the human parts to the key dealers.
“We appeal to the general public to report any strange indications to the nearest police station,” said Mwaluka. “Are you in doubt with the dealings of a particular person within your vicinity? Don’t hesitate to tip the police, you could be the next victim.”
He said apart from the latest arrests in Lilongwe, police have within one month brought to book a man in Dedza and two from Lilongwe’s Mtandire suburb for killing a boy and an adult respectively. He said in both cases the victims had their private parts removed.
Mwaluka said in one incident a traditional doctor was netted on suspicion that he used human parts as rituals to make businessmen become more prosperous.
“Maybe at first people thought such dealings had to do with mortuary attendants, but now we all know that innocent people are being hunted like animals. Therefore, we must join hands to track down all the culprits,” he said.
Members of Parliament, currently meeting at the New State House last Friday, commended the police for arresting the four suspects after Home Affairs Minister Anne Kachikho told the House that the private parts dealers were in custody.
The four suspects have been charged with ritual murder and killings for money and will be taken to court after investigations are over.

While the rest of the world is advancing in medicine and technology, ignorance in Africa is growing at an alarming rate. It's shocking, disturbing, ridiculous; I can't even find the words to describe it. It saddens me and sickens me and frightens me. THIS IS THE 21ST CENTURY FOR CRYIGN OUT LOUD!!!!

You misunderstood me man.What prompted to question is the concurrence of the murders and how pipo could risk such.Most of us spent years in class just to get what we have,but here is someone killing pipo to get rich.............. am just confused.

I understand. And that's my very point. About how people in this day and age can still commit murder for supernatural "riches". I mean, there are so many other types of murder and one can argue that the Iraq war and all the victims of it are being killed for money and resources too so whats' the difference.

The difference is the supernatural belief that a ritual murder would bring wealth... In the 21st century?

No. But state sanctioned institutional murder (war) is murder still. The Bush variety is even worse as it kills multitudes indiscriminately.

My argument was that ritual murder is foolish.

I am not so sure about zokhwima, but what l heard is that the private parts are used as bait to catch Whales. I presume they cash in alot of money for them hence the so called 'wealth'
