SHUD HE BE GIVEN A GREEN LIGHT?
Permalink Closed

I have a Zambian friend doing business here in Malawi. He frequents my home for a chat ,  drink and of course we play games on my computer. I have oftenly talked about the popular Malawiana.net: the quality , touch and colour . He has fallen in love with the forum : the tpical issues discussed and he recently asked me if it is open to non-Malawians as well.He is interested to join into the discussions and all sorts.  I reserved my opinion til I hear from you people . Do we welcome him ? Paja awatu ndi maneba and we share same values. I am positive and negative at the same time , what do you say Abres, Game , Ngwazi , JRC, etcccccccc?

Not only should he be given the green light he should be actively encouraged to join. He is definitely more Malawian than a lot of folks on this forum...

This is a forum for malawians not neo-malawians. He is already participating by just looking at what we malawians are up to. Just because he is doing business in malawi does not entitle him to. He is zambian with a zambian way of looking at issues, period.

I do not want to sound so unaccomodating but i think he can be more useful on a zambian forum. I recall someone saying that zambians have their forum which was castigating ours?

Don't be a fool. If you've ever been to Zambia you'll realise that there is hardly eny difference between the two countries, besides this is forum open to EVERYONE who has anything to contribute irrespective of where one is from.

I hope you're not being serious because if you are you're a disgrace to your country and a poster child for intolerance. Bow your head in shame!!!!

True. Ha ha!

PS: Zambia lent us its presidency for goodness sake (thru Kaunda)! The least we can do is give a Zambian a spot on the forum. Don't be greedy.

Interesting thought. I didn't think of it that way (that's my inner corporate vulture at work!).

Thats kinda absurd to ask for permission to be a participant of this since when you are registering you are not asked your nationality. After all its a World Wide Web (WWW)

That kind of language separates you as a malawian from zambians. Amalawi simunazolowera zonyozana, kunenezana ku home office and all the negative crap! Ofcourse I have driven and flown into zambia so many times and malawians are very different from zambians in terms of thinking about things around them, statistically speaking!

Let's discuss real issues!!

And it seems these "statistics" only exist within the confines of your head...

Sorry to say this , but I have to admit that something vital has been lost in this discussion forum - namely, the disturbingly limited way in which some few members whose knowledge comes from the idiot box such as Abres, Game and of course Zee still want us to believe Malawiana being the sum of WWW belongs to all nationalities hence they imply it is open to every Jim and Jack citizenry of this world ( thats full of boll..cks ). Exactly when and how did Malawiana feelings get defined in such reactive, negative terms? Since when does being Malawiana require not so much a commitment to positive ideals and actions but, rather, to gestures that encourage an atmosphere of fearful watchfulness, xenophobia and the surrender of our freedoms?

As an ardent patriot I equally love my country , Malawi as well as Malawiana and everything in it because it is mine, because it is for Malawians. I suppose I should be pleased by the ubiquity of the rising sun embedded on a black , red and green banner of Malawi ; reflected on the Malawiana page. Malawiana is entirely categorised as Malawi described as connecting Malawians and not Africans or People in general. Take note..

Since this is Malawiana I feel it as a Malawian duty to give up some individual privacy to guard against the possibility of intruders from within or without be it Zambians , Zims, or those who betrayed their Malawian nationality like Yudas Abres les Ojoscariot. Abres please leave this forum as we do not categorise non-Malawians within this forum( under Malawian immigration laws ,we do not legalise dual citizenship; you are either a Malawian or somethingelse). Malawians , lets have a concern about love of privacy and free speech and, not least important, a spirited willingness to defend those ideals about ourselves. Enanu say titha kuphunzira something from them , my foot . What isit that we can learn from them that we cant teach them anyway? This is Malawiana, excuse me...Malawiana is for Malawians and do not get corrupted by these lost souls , Game , Yudas Abres etc , as these are pipo who have shifted their loyalties from the local and immediate to the abstract and remote yet they want to feel belonging to the Warm Heart of Africa. Read what they say about Malawi....and am actually preparing adossier to be posted sooner or later on this forum.

Honestly bros and sisys , grasping the pride of being Malawian is love not so much of country but of its advocative and proponent forms and their traditions. And I wonder if pipo such as Game , Abres and my Zambian friend could be willing to make sacrifices, work hard to preserve Malawian values and participate in civic life through the web. Malawians , lets intogatherness work aggressively to defend the freedoms that make a Malawian a republic. The specter of a passive citizenry surrendering its rights is sadly pertinent - as is the danger of not distinguishing between patriotism and nationalism.

you are absolutely right, this forum has turned into a slumbering volcano for mentally ill people, its funny how one puts himself so much in the middle of danger like that.i hate to regret but i never thought i would put myself on the spot like being on this forum, the likes of nyasaland are sure not the ones to assorciate yourself with, and someone just came with his topic "am back".wonder what goes on in peoples heads.

You know the first impression was to be offended by that post and then I realised he's just another Ayatollah like character who, not having anything to say go on and say it anyway.

In fact I have no idea what he's saying. In fact using biblical analogy to describe my point of view is hilarious to me.

...Awmygawd , Game and Abres are psychiatric doctors on this forum. Guess how they became experts! At the psychiatric refferal centre they were prescribed to simply study psychiatry .
