Today I had one of those rare opportunities of talking to my uncle. Yes, the famous Uncle Chimbolo Munthali. He brief me of life at home and I did the same about Indiana. But the ambiance changed when I mentioned about valentine's weekend party. Valentine's day always brings him bad memories, because thats the day he caught his ex-wife cheating with her boss (on his bed). He had no choice, but he 'panel beat' both of them real good. Up to this day, they both run when they see him.
Thats beside the point. I was telling him that am on cross roads and I dont know which party to attend on 11th, because both parties are organised by my friends. I told him that my choices are either to attend both parties and run the risk of meeting the cops and spending more money or attend one of the them and create enmity and antagonism. Staying at home is no choice.
My Uncle laughed and was like: Chaka wachilowa bwini mphanga. He asked me if I still remember the theory of 'Supply and Demand'. I didnt know where he was driving at. He was like: Your friends will outclass each other and they will start offering incentives, inducements, enticements and stimulus in terms of free admission, free women, free kanyenya and mang'ina, free tipple, snifter, and cocktails. The cover charge is $10, but by 11th its gonna be free of charge.
I gat his point, so I will wait until 11th hour on the 11th to make my decision. It seems whatever I will do on this day I will be the winner. Thank you Uncle C. for your wise ideas.
