Atlanta Commentary - Thank You
Permalink Closed

I do not know who the moderator of this forum is but I would like to thank you for killing the Atlanta commentary topic. I noticed that even though my intentions were good, certain individuals were trying to take cheap shots and put the women on blast. Also Thank you for taking all the pictures off from the front page. Your heavy hand has really shut them off. Save us from all the nasty pictures. We want to see people in churches, mosques and on College Campus

It seems unbelievable that in a country with so many problems,The topic with the most comments and hits is one where were talking smack about other people ..is is just me or is there something wrong with that picture? If Malawiana is really all about that, would any one seriously reccomend a non-malawian to look at this site... a lot of issues are discussed in this forum but sometimes they are clouded by the topics with the most hits... "who wore what"

Id personally like to see a Malawiana where topics about combating hunger are as commented on as much as topics abuot what Shaniqua Banda (By the way,a as a generic name) was wearing or how she was wearing it ?  So all in all the good thing about running a site is that the owner can choose what type of content he wants on it. - Kam Sutras comment is really shallow...jealous ? For what ? You know sometimes when people talk trahs about others on forums, the victims, and others who just dont give a damn about trash talking, start having negatiev views about Malawians, stop associating with Malawians etc...etc.. etc... you know, if u saw ur photo there and pple were hating you'd be like "f*ck Malawians" Im never going back.. so those kind of thing really can impact people ... or pple may be thinking "Im not donating money to the hunger relief, those people said my thighs looked like tree trunks" - and people that talk trash on Malawian shouldnt been seen as  rep of the whole country..

Why does it make a lot Malawians feel real good to talk badly about others?

One of the reasons that I keep coming to thiis forum is to remind myself how bad Malawians can be and how shallow. It helps to solidify my resolve to stay away from that country for good...

Black P, I think to expect that important issues would come out of this forum is a non-starter. The mentality of most Malawians on this forum is that the problems in Malawi are mostly created by the Greedy Politishans. It is not our responsibility to fix such probelms. Where is Parliament and where is the Gavernment?

You are dreaming in Technicolor if you thnki this forum would fix the problems back home. The Politishans do not even care about what matchona discuss on this forum. They are their looking out for self. The truth is most Africans are very selfish people. My observation has been that Most Afirikanz do not give a rats ass about anyone beyond their immediate family. They are the first ones to laugh and make fun when other people are suffering. It's not surprising to see Malawians laughing at someone because he/ she is sick, has lost a job, is broke etc.

Too much pretence for nothing. Who are you pipo kidding??? Anyani, agalu, akapunthabuyu achabe chabe.

Khetwo,

serious topics on thie forum is not a non-starter. We have had them before. I see that your a newbie ... so take a lool at some old topics when you have the time.

you wrote: It is not our responsibility to fix such probelms. Where is Parliament and where is the Gavernment?

If its not your reposnsibility to fix whats wrong with Malawi who's is it ? The politicians, politicians are supposed to be public servants. also , where will the next set of politicians come from. Most likely, some one or someones on this forum are going to be the future politicians of Malawi, wuold you rather have a politicians knowing the bra size of their consituencies (pardon spelling) or the food size of it ? What we write here will afect our future. Directly or indeirectly. Also even if current politicians are not reading the forum themselves. how about their children brothers and sisters... conversations here may end up as a dining room table discussion. History has shown us that social change requires media/newspaper/magazines and in recent history forums. we have the internet at our finger tips and hence a vehicle for change. It is not purely a pipe dream.

We should never forget that we should not RELY on ght Govt/Politicians to fix our problems. Its theri job but WE need to tell them What WE want. WE employ the ministers. We haev a right to tell govt how to fix our problems.

Lets look at the glass as half full not half empty!

I lack a sense of belonging? Geez I've accused of everything from heathen to Satan to... You don't want to know... Never one who lacks a sense of belonging.

Honestly, maybe you're right. I'm sure you can tell that about me seeing that we've never met or even remotely know each other huh? You must be those psychics that they have in amusement parks that can apparently tell a total stranger their history.

On a serious note. I don't need to belong anywhere. I don't have the emotional or psychological need to feel wanted or comforted or accepted. I have, what I believe is the intellectual capacity and the self-actualisation to be comfortable within myself, about myself, that even if the whole world were to treat me as a pariah it won't effect my resolve, my true self.

Confessing to be an atheist has lost me friends, lovers, family, even enemies. But the courage of my convictions are enough for me. In fact most of my hobbies - reading, cinema computers -  are solitary pursuits.

Abre, as long as you are happy, you dont need to change your attitude about what or where you have to be.

Thanks.

The more I grow older the more I realise that I am seldom wrong about anything, and that the hours I've spent trying to verify my notions have only wasted my time.
