Ngwazi, I think the weapon used will be the most telling in this instance. If an automatic rifle was used, it is very possible that Sir James may have taken his own life.

This is sad indeed. Mr Makhumula was a very respectable citizen of Malawi who wanted nothing short of the best for himself and Malawi as a whole. My heartfelt condolences to Bessie and all the Makhumula's. May the grace of the Lord be with you and strengthen you especially at this very difficult time.

Damn!!! May his soul rest in eternal peace. Have just heard that he shot himself three times as well. Of course we shall all ask questions and this is one of them topics in which there's so much speculation on his death. Pakagwa mvula kuchuluka.............

Very sad indeed... the three bullets thing is left people with unanswered questions but then he left a note (akuti mavuto anachuluka) could it be that he hired someone to shoot him?

I remember him driving himself in his limo.

I was at his funeral,really bad for him.What a bad ending.May his soul rest in peace if possible.

I think everyone is capable of suicide given the right circumstances. Even the most seemingly adjusted individuals can just snap. As horrifying as it is to take your life, the statistics of suicide in the world are quite surprising.
