Last Friday; as I'm sure most of us have heard, a young Brazillian man was shot by the cops on the London Underground by plain clothes policemen. There has been an argument by most of the tabloids that it was entirely justified because he ran when chased by the police.
For those who live in London and take the tube daily like I do, I must say it comes as a scary thing knowing that the cops are operating on a shoot-to-kill; or as they have changed it now shoot-to-protect basis.
these policemen!! there is this unbecoming thing about them: killing in cold blood... you know what, there was such a disease in Malawi too, two students were killed and even musicians...! only i didnt know that even policemen in the west were the same, only that they have a smatter uniform...
I would have understood it if they had shot the guy say in the leg or something and then even then only once. But to shoot the guy FIVE times, point blank,in the head now that makes me very wiery as to wot the world is coming up to.
Don't get me wrong, i want the ****ers caught and delt with. It's going to be a very long time before you see me anywhere down south especially on the underground!

What's scary too is that this issue is really bringing out deep-seated racial issues. It's usually white folk that are saying the police were right to it and are blaming his death on him. We darker skinned folk are the ones that are a little bit sceptical because we are part of the so-called suicide bomber profile.
I can't even search my bag for my newspaper on the tube anymore without getting funny looks from people.
Arabs are soon becoming the new "blacks" (blamed for everything).
Apparently, his visa had expired and the cops were plain-clothed. As a foreigner that makes sense. You don't expect to get shot 'though. Funny the cops had been following him for hours. So they could have stopped him long before he got to the Tube.
reading the comments that people have made in the newspapers, i.e that they are not sorry that he was shot and all that and why was he acting suspicious anyway, it makes you think that is it cause the guy is not British thats why no one seems to care? Do you think peoples reactions would have been the same had the guy been British(white)? I doubt it!
And it's just emerged that all 4 would be suicide bombers were actually asylum seekers from Eastern Africa and 1 of them had been given British citizenship just 10 months ago. I wonder how life is going to be like for us ordinary immigrants from now on? I mean there have been suggestions to say that they should send all asylum seekers home
I wonder whats next?
