THE OPEN UNIVERSITY
Permalink Closed

Hi people!

I want to enrol with the open university (UK) but i've been told by some person that their qualifications are not globaly recognised but are only valid in UK and that i would be wasting ma time enrolling with them. I mean i don't want to be stuck in this grey land forever. is there anyone out there who can enlighten me a bit? Has anyone done a degree or diploma course with them and if so how good are they?

I know some of you are saying why not just enrol with a normal uni but for those of you that live here (UK) know how expensive these uni's are and with me working full time it's not on is it?

So please people help a sister out. I'm running out of time as the academic year will soon be upon us in Sept.

Thanks in advance ya'll!

About the Open University. It isn't true that their qualifications are not recognised internationally, infact the Open University has some world renouned lecturers and intellectuals (Stuart Hall). It is a very convenient way to study and work without having to struggle to do both. Go for it!

I personally know that they provide great programme research for the BBC.

I agree with Abre, the OU's qualifications are recognised world wide. I work for an oil company and they recommend the OU and subsidise uni fees for staff living outside the UK who want to get further qualifications.

Good luck with your course!
