This is insane! I had to clear my throat on this one! Out of curiosity, I read all my past postings on this forum, and I have a change of heart. I would like to apologize to everyone that I hurt and caused pain on this forum. I would like to turn the leaf. Some of you might think Mbili has become soft. No!!!! I am as hard as a rock, baby! I am calling on all Journalists in Malawi. Whats up with all the negative stories that you guys report day in day out about Malawi. I was going through pictures taken in Malawi on this site's homepage... did we see development and new buildings in Malawi or what!!! How come nobody wants to write about developments in Malawi? I know for a fact that there are new companies being formed in Malawi and Africa with big dreams, try to sell their dreams to the world. The whole point is, Western media has painted a bad picture about Africa..that is why some countries do not want to invest in Africa.... they think we still do not wear clothes in Africa. It is your job since you do have the privileges to talk to the magnitude of people through papers to show them otherwise... tell and prove it to the western world that we are not what they think we are.. we are better than that, you know and I know that..so make it happen! Tell the Western world that we also have stocks in Malawi, catch their attention.. we have Lending institutions which charge interest rates that even a person with Bad credit would reject. Minimize writing about scandals in Malawi cause it shows instability. Why should a journalist be popular in UK because he wrote about the President seeing ghosts. Europeans are laughing at us!! Tell the world what is new in Malawi and what future developments hold for investors. To be continued!!!!
Whats going on Mbili i hope the whole bad boys crew is doing well in Nellyville.
I was realy impressed with the pix that this guy took about BT this brings in the good old days. I recognize most of the places and a lot of new developments. These pictures are worthy thousands of words to me. Thanks to this brother for sharing these pix.
i was wondering when and who was going to bring up a straight forward topic with hard hitting concerns for all malawians back home and overseas.lets hope if there is anyone you offended will try to make amends as we all want to move on.
i wont comment on the pictures because i think whoever put them up covered and addressed all areas in our society from town to ghetto life so to me its a real jounalistic approach.although they are only pictures without narration as i would rather have to read about life in malawi instead of looking at the deceiving factor in the photography.
Alot of journalists in malawi dont appeal to me because they lack transparency when it comes to raising issues that affect the everyday life of a local man, they would rather praise the inmaterial interests of their bread and butter provider regardless of how much negativity they convey to the donor community.most of these cats live in poverty so the only way to survive it to take illegal drastic measures that disregard their constitution as a medium between the poor and the rich.
all journalists in malawi are a bunch of manipulated and oppressed proffessionals whose status quo is always abused and dissected by the bigger man be it in politics and highly influential positions.i have witnessed many unproffessional operatives in malawi media i can name names if i have to but its still of no use.

As matter of fact there nothing new to write about to the investing public about Malawi....Investor do not want to invest in Africa or Malawi becuase of uncertainity, week insitutions, political instability, poor infrastructure, low level of human capital, low social capital, HIPC status, poor economic policies, small internal market and geography--located far from major markets. Our government need to address those issues if we want to see an inflow of foreign direct investment. To investors out there, Africa is like one place...Whatever happens in Liberia or Rwanda has bearing whether investors would want to invest in Malawi. However, all is not lost....Africa on average offers higher returns as compared to Asia and Latin America and countries that are political unstable in Africa have been able to attract reasonably high levels of FDI...eg Nigeria, Angola and Sudan...What is their secrete....black gold...oil. For Malawi's case, we got a big task at hand in terms of attracting foreign direct investment and the government has not been addressing the key issues that really matter. Things will change when we get governments that are really serious about economic development....Malawi's major export is still tobacco and there has been talks on how to diversify Malawi's exports...papers in Capital Hill are gathering dust on this issue and no-one does anything about it....these are some of the issues we need to address. Investors are just waiting for us to put our acts together.

WAYAMBA BOZA TU IWE......DONT TALK OF OTHER COUNTRIES THE ISSUE HERE IS ABOUT MALAWI AS PUT BY THE OWNER OF THIS DISCUSSION TOPIC.....IWE UKUFUNA CHANI MUFANA...KODI OSANKHALA PHEEEE BWANJI KODI ..............CRAZY FROG IWE LET OTHERS SAY SOMETHING ABOUT MALAWI IN SPECIFIC.
Except for a handful lot, I doubt that our reporters [that's what they are; it's another ball game being a journalist] can put up a coherent article on investment (opportunities) in Malawi.
Journalists play an integeral in development in Malawi. but they are human too.. remember that journalists are very powerful people b/c the pen can be mighter then the sword. If Malawian journalists were funded pvt, or were paid by an internationl body u would see more people exposing stuff. on the other hand, int'l bodies also mean that stories are tailer -made to their ignorant audience.
