end of an era

watching the tv it looks like the era for the pontif has almost come to an end,and alot of mixed questions arise to who will succeed the 84 year old pope?a nigerian cardinal is the people's favourite to carry the torch of the most pious man in the world, but forgive me for my scepticism over this choice.will a black pope receive the same respect as the white pope?will he be confortable to reign supreme in vatican,an almost white country.i know there was one black saint in the time of thomas aquinas, but for an african negro£ to be the leader of the roman catholic church,i remain a doubting thomas unless if there is someone with some info to fill me in.

Do not let prejudice corrupt your mind and judgement, every man is one under God and was created from his image with the same body functions like the man next to him, so color of skin is not a fundamental or essential factor in discharging one’s duties or fulfilling and performing the obligations or demands of an office, duty, or task. Unless if you’re talking of things like merit, effectiveness, performance etc, and then other systems of selection will be employed. The deceased Pope John Paul II was a citizen of another country too, Poland, and was able to keep control at the helm, a question of race or nationality never surfaced and matter of fact, we have a lot of missionaries from the motherland spreading the message in the west and are never met with any kind of skepticism due to the color of their skin, so being a Pope is just an elevation from the basic positions of Father, Priest, Bishop, Cardinal etc. I don’t know about your location, but being in America has been such an eye opener to me and I’ve seen real life examples of how race don’t play a role in one’s success.

That is why I do not trust my salvation in the hands of man who is also just like me, subjected to the same conditions eg death and we will all be judged by the same guy using the same rules. I am for Jesus atleast he rose on the 3rd day. Trust in the lord alone.

For starters, am jus 2 shocked to hear ab the popes death this morning. Even tho ive known for the past few days that hes near death it came as quite a shock. As for the successor being a Nigerian i really dont see any problems with that. Black or white we all are Gods sons n daughters so why not.
