WHY ARE MARRIAGES OF TODAY NOT SURVIVING

God hates divorce, Jesus said no to divorce, the only reason in the bible of which one can acquire a divorce is if there is infidelity issues.

Otherwise it's a NO No.

well it all depends on whom we all fear and whose words we scale our lives on.

Todays marriages are sadly ending in divorce be it cos they were of convenience or ignorance or whatsoever. People who are not married but are planning to or those that are married and are considering divorce need to take time and ask themselves who they are and what their God means to them cos if He means anything they will not get divorced, they will work out their issues. Marriage is a blessing but today we look at it as the most difficult institution to place oneself in. and remember if u marry a divorced person or sleep with them God considers it as ADULTERY> so whoever gets divorced should be prepared NOt to ever slep with anyone.

Since you have tackled this issue from a Christian perspective, I will also try to confine my discussion there.

Marriages of today are failing to survive because they are not founded on Christian values. The Bible commanded a man to love his wife, but trust me very few men live by this virtue today. Similarly, the Bible said woman should respect her husband but yet again you will agree with me that this is not the case today. Until today's man and woman remember the role God plays in one's life there will be no solution in sight.

If we use the bible as the basis for morality, then men should be able to have more than one wife. I guess the mormons are the only one that have that right. On a side-note, could someone be kind enough to tell me exactly where Jesus said no to divorce in the bible. I already know that I'm going to get divorced at least 3 times so I want to see how angry Jesus will be with me.

Montana, you are so funny, you ant to find out how angry Jesus will be with you?

if you know that you are doomed marriage wise, why would you even bother to do that?just be by yourself. i sense selfishness in such kind of remarks. The main reason why people will get divorced is cause you disagree on many issue 'you are not on the same page'. So why on earth would you want to settle for someone that doesn't complement you??? n they say gotta compromise on issues and stuff, so you need to be selfless, olo nde simuzakwatiradi.

However am for divorce, i don't think it's fair to stick around cause you are hoping your partner will change, rather walk out, i mean we only got one life to live. n if you r lucky enuff to know your partner is not wot they say/said they are, then you know your marriage has reached it's 'sale by' date, you need to get out and fast. you know why we have so many troubled youth nowadays, it's cause of bad airs in the family. okey, so it isn't infedility(SP), your kids see you beat up your wife everyday, she doesn't walk, she stays, they say, wot kind of adults are they going to be? wouldn't they have been better off with one parent????

there are so many sides to this...............

Phoebs, I've always said practice makes perfect and thats why the first 3 marriages will be practice marriages. Just kidding!!! I don't know whether or not I'll get divorced when I get married. I might be wise but I'm not wise enough to predict the future.
