The Role of University Scholarships in Poverty Reduction in Malawi

Conference Objectives:

•To review and exchange experiences on the development of poverty
reduction strategies in Malawi;
•To identify obstacles and challenges faced by different stake holders in
designing and implementing poverty reduction strategies in Malawi, and
•To examine the potential benefits of University scholarships in the
promotion of socio-economic development and poverty reduction in Malawi.

Participants:

The conference is open to all Malawians in various sectors with access to
the internet, such as subscribers of Nyasanet, Bunda Alumni,
Youthlifeskillsnet, Malawiana, Developing Malawi, Project Dynamo,
AMalawi.com, Malawitalk and other private internet users. Participants are
expected to come from donor agencies, Government ministries,  NGOs, all
constituent colleges of the University of Malawi, University of Mzuzu,
Various colleges in Malawi, private sector, statutory companies,
commercial companies, college students, school-leavers, charity
organisations, political and religious institutions.
