WORDS and PHRASES

Consider this:

MMELO is Chichewa for throat

MMELO by definition is malo amene zinthu zamela.

CHINENA is Chichewa for Pubic region

CHINENA by definition is chimene tigwiritsa nthito ponena

NOW considering that on the pubic region is where "things" grow AND

Pa MMELO is where TIMANENERA

Does this mean Pubic region should have been MMELO and MMELO should have been CHINENA , judging by their purposes respectively and also having regard to rules of semantics in Chichewa language?Or does someone think otherwise?

I aint sure MMELO means "pamene zinthu zamela".I think MMELA is more accurate? And your second definition of CHINENA...HMM...Aint sure either. Quite interesting though that you came up with these "words and phrases".

On language;I just thought I should share the obvious on this forum...or is it not quite obvious...:

The English is:

1. "Discuss" NOT "Discuss about"

2. "Repeat" NOT "Repeat again"

3. "Comprise" NOT "Comprise of"

4. May I BORROW

5. May you LEND (me)

6. "Can" NOT "Can be able"

7. "aSKed" NOT "aXed"

8. Present Tense: COST; Past Tense: "COST" NOT "COSTED"

9. "Edyukeshon" NOT "Edyuqueshon" FOR "Education"

And the most common Malawi "error"

10. "End of the month" NOT "Month end"

More later...
