So whats the word on Arafat's status? Is he still alive or is he gone? A lot of interesting events will definitely unfold if Good ol' Yasser is dead. I think I'll cancel my christmas trip to Israel this year.
word is..he hasn't been declared dead. The french are jus' carrying out EEG tests on him to check wether he dead or not. Am jus' waiting for a call from my french informant he is at the hospital right now.
I am back! Hint to all the guys! If you want to sppice up your love life and to get "it" wet all day everyday 365 days, take your women or family to Orlando. That is all I am going to say for now!
Kalundi! Whats going on????
As advanced as these hospitals are they can not find what is wrong with the guy? I think the Doctors gave up the way Doctors in Malawi do all the time, and just say this person died of AIDS to avoid questions! I think he needs mankhwala a chikuda, have the French call one of the Whitch doctors from Malawi, he will be alright!
The old man is still alive his brain, heart, lungs are still functioning but his condition is gettin worse. But it looks like the palestinians are already organizing for his funeral, some are suggesting to bury him at his west bank headquaters Maquta, them officials are suggesting Jerusalem.
They say he died of a bleeding brain.Yeah whatever!!!! Let him go and rest in peace. But SUHA eeeehh! Ndi chiphadzuwatu ndipo chilemera. Samupha anyamata akewa?
Apparently Akuti coz of tradition and stuff, all the relatives have to be present, so they waiting for them to all gather from around the world - continent - watever - Then when they are there - they'll just pull the plug- I Mean imagine the expense of tryna keep him alive - Then again theres so many versions of whats cutting - Either way, this guys as good as gwon....

I am thinking there is just too much that they are not letting on. But if what we are hearing is this bad am thinking his condition too bad. And he could be deaed. was just checking the news on the net and it seems some do not want to switch off the machines and some really do want to do that. No straight answers that side. Pity the man though. And Doctors apparently have said with his kind of brain bleeding he could be gone in the next twenty four hours. But maybe they just want to straighten a few things first before they announce his death.
& Suha is some force, the way she has just come into the scene...i hope they will let her be and if the money issue is true she is going to be stinking rich and mebbe she wll gt another man..But she's some tough lady. I was reading somewhere she said if she had a son she would sacrifice him ( thru those suicide bombings stuff) imagine a lady who can say that. I think she is tough.
Either way I hope there won't be some internal wrangles over power issues, they have too much on the plate already..........

Deep down i believe we are of the mind that the dude is dead. But they have yet to announce it officially cos I understand that the wife is being criticised for hiding the truth on his condition and as already stated on one or two postings earlier i believe they are trying to think of a way forward after Yasser's death. I wonder what will become of the wife since she isn't well liked.

I agree with that they are just keeping it tight to first rectify things on the low first. & then drop the bomb.
But suha, she should just remain in Paris and forget Palestine, those guys don't like her now, after the outburst, Whew! She is definately on their bad side. & one of them big guns commented to say that they will respect her cause she is the mother of Arafat's only child. Lets see if they will hold their end.
& wot is this that i hear that Bush on Sunday said Arafat should rest in peace. Guy was seriously misinformed huh!
& i read somewhere that the people up in Palestine are mostly moslems and it turns out they are fasting ( month of Ramadhan) And some are worried that should this guy die now it would mean that there will be closed shops and no new clothes and festivities as the fasting month should be over by this weekend. So really they would rather he die later than now, lest it interferes with the festive period. That's cold huh! people want to be happy and should this guy die, anthu a mahappy ziasokonakela apparently Ramadhan you fast on 'everything' ndiye imagine state funerals so??

Am now havin a feeling that old man is already dead, but u know how these goes when it's someone respectable they try to keep it a secret for a while. This reminds me when Kabila died, dude was already dead but they kept on tuning that he was still alive.
Another thing I've heard is that Arafat wants to be burried in Jerusalem (because he was born there??) but Sharon has stated that they only bury kings in Jerusalem, not terrorists.
Now that he is dead, it is very interesting to note how differently he was perceived around the world. You clearly get different pictures from watching BBC, CNN or RFI. Hero or not, we can all agree, that he was a great icon for the Palestinians. May he rest in peace.
