Are we losing it?
Permalink Closed

The nation of Malawi of late has enjoyed a rich form of splendind events ranging from debt cancellation to inflation rates stagnating, but the effects of this cannot be felt now its an economical issue that will be felt in a couple of years to come, on condition that the political will of whoever is going to be running the show then wont lose the momentum that has already started.

My worry is on the demise of the first lady, we have seen how old folks (some) tend to lose it and start losing focus after the loss of their loved ones especially after having spent so much time together working out modalities on what they should do. Our dear president is not a young man anymore and age is fast catching up i just hope that  these wolves running around the prey wont take full advantage of this and use it agaisnt the old man to score a point. With the recent events honestly if i were a DPP member i would start some serious thinking on the succession of the party, i greatly doubt if Bingu will be the same after this and one person like Muluzi i have made myself believe that he is taking full advantage of this he surely knows what 2009 will be a mixed bag now.

I just hope that Bingu will remain strong and carry on with the goodtidins he has already started sowing.

this will have no impact on the political journey this man has started, my only worry is how will he socially live looking at his ailing age,I feel he needs a sweet 16 just to make him awake and strong.I know his kids wouldnt like it though but we dont need to listen to them.

My understanding is that Muluzi is a spent force and come 2009 you will trust my words.

But definitely he will push for further divisions i only see Tembo gaining out of all this. if i get my what ifs like
1-Bingu decides not to stand in 2009
2-He is no longer interested in nothing but his life
3-Cohorts in DPP are the same anawononga UDF
4-The faction from MCP is forgiven (as Tembo has done before)

its all chaos

The real enemies of Bingu who will take advantage of his old age and the absence of the first lady will be the other DPP big guys. They will want him to ''marry'' them (meaning men and women alike), like being thier confidants and to realy run the show with him both outside and within state house. He will contionously be fed with lies and in the process losing the development forcus he has taken.

And its quiet different with Atcheya. Both the Ex and incumbent know thier political lines will never meet again and so they will remain political enemies.

However, its in my opinion that it would appear our beloved leader is not the type to be derailed in this presidential crusade by the death of his loving partiner, rather it will give him an extra gear. Imagine, they have a committe being led by Hon. Katsonga to look at the funeral arrangemens and the like it. Yet he takes off from the mourning house in Lilongwe on his chopper to have a proper look at Ndata Farm (the burrial place in Thyolo) just to achieve precision. Is that not a sign of a great leader?....a type who will lead you even in time of sorrow!
