Madonna has arrived in Malawi to see David's father. Rumour is it that many reporters including CNN and others from as far as Asia has camped in Mchinji near David's fathers home. Local people see it as a movie seeing a lot of different cameras, different type of cars, many azungu and so many things.

that is not bad. some exposure for our country which the ministry of information and the other for tourism are failing to provide.
Ha ha! Have you tried searching for 'Malawi' on Google? That's the first thing potential tourists will do, and what will they get? An awful lot of links to charities asking for "help Malawian orphans" donations, country profiles (which invariably start with "Malawi is an impoverished Central African country blah blah blah") and similar websites that would make you think Malawi is an absolute hell hole. Run a search for 'Malawi', you'll see what I mean. Madonna's helped improve Malawi's international visibility, I'm not so sure about her impact on its image though.
interesting, but is the country capitalising on this exposure? i very much doubt it. though it may seem of no consequence, we need to bring up ideas on how we can employ this scenario for the benefit of the country. this woman needs to be offered land on the lakeshore so she can build a holiday home.
