gentlemen,Air malawi has launched a direct connection from lilongwe to london gatwick,the launch which started as a rumour was a done deal immediate from today,this will be a step forward for malawi although its in partnership with air zimbabwe.malawi high commissioner to the UK dr francis moto was in attendance at the event and urged malawians to promote this venture for our own good.

in the future air malawi will operate from gatwick to scotland and the midlands so we dont have to get the buses.welcome malawi gin.i cant wait.

it is indeed good news and the thought of having a carlsberg special brew in my hand right form london leaves my mouth watering in anticipation!

i visited air malawi's webstite and what i encountered was a disaster, albeit not a total one. it does not specify whether it is london heathrow or london gatwick plus on the schedule page it says 'summer time table effective from 14 october 2006 to 31 march 2006' do they cross check thier work?

if we are to make it on the internatonal scene, attention to detail must be paramount. i'll try to contact them and may you as well?

i have  sent them an e-mail.

Thats Malawi's type of work anyway they dont have any capable hands doing marketing and Pr its all the old guys there. Am ashamed to say this fella's the company i work for launched a website some years ago and all the info there is obsolete trying to tell the IT guys to do something about it they have this and that excuse how i wish i could do it meself, shame.

Ahhhh my friends. Ndege ya nyanja abwera ku England.

I can not wait to be sitting in a seat chatting to fellow Malawians kukafika mpaka Lilongwe non-stop. Ahhhh. Mesmerised by the taste of a Carlsberg green and followed by Sobo.

The dinner served will be Ndiwo and piri piri chicken, those in business class will get kanyenye and mandazi. I can bearly contain the excitement.

Just the aanouncements in my own language will bring a tear to some eyes.. tikupita kunyumbha kwathu.

The customs officer on arrival will say Mwanganizira nkanthu wa ineyo.

the guys at air malawi replied to the e-mail i sent. here is the reply i got:


Thanks for the message to us.The time table on the web is effective 14 Oct 06 to 31 Mar 07, it was a typing erro I guess and it has been noted.The Flights are to and from London Gatwick.I have attached our current time table.Please let me know if you need more infoRegardsTom M'mangeni
