The president announced recently that the government has ermarked land in Lilongwe for a new city centre square. He went on to say if you think you can build a highrise building of more than 12 floors, you are more than welcome to acquire land at less than the current market value.Again priority goes to Malawians, who would like to develop their country.Sounds reasonable to me,lets take this chance.

Here we go again. Why do we need another city centre? Can anyone please explain to me the economic arguement behind another city centre. what is wrong with the one we have at the moment. Is it lack of land? Is it poor location? We surely have other priority areas that need investment.
Quote me if am wrong, but I strongly suspect that the land in question will be "bought" by a few stooges of the current leadership. However do not be surprised when the next president scrapes the programme off. That's Malawian politics for you.
